Im just fascinated at the medical field these days, Doctors are handing out pills like there the only way to cure someone. I dont know if anyone else is aware of how quick doctors will perscribe an anti depressant or a pill for ADHD but i really think that even though doctors may know medicine, they shouldnt be able to perscribe it for psych disorders. Its very easy to trick them into giving pills, I dont know i just thought id ramble on that for a bit since i love Psychology.

Totally, 100% agree. Maybe they are, in the long run, doing more harm than good? The thing is, psychological disorders can be
CURED, not just managed, but nobody seems to want to do that. It requires work and time. Just give 'em a pill.

AND- ADHD is WWWAAAYYY too overdiagnosed and scrips for Ritalin and such are handed out like Flinstones vitamins. The side effects can be atrocious- and can be deadly after prolonged use. My kids are hyper and easily distracted- it's because they're KIDS!!! Their father was diagnosed with ADHD as a child and he thinks they display some of the "symptoms". In my opinion, they are just extremely bright, inquisitive and high energy. What works best to keep them well behaved, you might ask? EXERCISE!!

It is unbelievable how Doctors hand out pills and how easily these people get addicted to them. Not just anti-depressants but also pain killers. Some doctors know their patients are addicted and still give them out. It's sad!

I am so glad that you have talked about the topic with ADHD medication. It is crazy out there these days. My little sister who is 10 years old just got diagnosed with having ADHD. Yes, in a way i do understand that she has a little difficulty with focusing, but its not on an everyday basis however. But in no way do i see her as any more hyper then the next kid that rolls along. It disgusts me to even think that they are trying to prescribe medications to a young child when that might not even be the problem. More and more doctors are also prescribing too much pain medication. People are going to doctors saying they have a friggen ache and they get pain pills. Its rediculous.
